Toby Mergler is a law-abiding attorney, a comedy writer and a longtime baseball fan who somehow managed to not play fantasy hardball until the 2008 season. Last spring, MLB.com invited him to chronicle his rookie campaign in a weekly column, and “Welcome to the Show” was born.

Now Toby is back for Season 2 to continue his journey into the wild world of fantasy baseball and answer the all-important question: How exactly does one become an “expert”? Many people claim to have attained guru status, but nobody really knows how they got there — and if they did at all. That will change by the end of the 2009 campaign, as Toby delves even deeper into the fantasy realm.
